Day trip through the Black Hills, South Dakota

We spent 9 hours on a very fun tour that started with Breakfast at Ft Hays Dances with Wolves film set and ended with a chuckwagon supper and western music show....Mount Rushmore, Needles Highway, Cathedral Spires, Custer State Park-Sylvan Lake, Crazy Horse. Some breath taking scenery. Great way to start ending our holiday.

Badlands of South Dakota

The view was unbelievable and the colours in the layers (pink, yellow, gray). Again the pics don't do it justice. Deep gorges and castle like spires.

Saying Good-bye to the East Coast

Uneventful border crossing on Sept 13th. Only lost one Canadian grown tomato. Go figure!!!!!!




There is something special about the sea, and no matter whether you have traveled a thousand miles to reach it or have lived beside it all your live, the vast expanse of moving water, the calling of gulls and the tang of seaweed draws us to the salty elements. Good Bye, East Coast.







Early Morning at St. Andrew, NB Sept, 13th

Hopewell Rocks, New Brunswick

The Dinosaur Rock


This hole is 26 feet high and is covered when the tide is in. Awesome.

We visited last night when the tide was in and came back this morning so we could walk on the oceans floor one last time before we leave. Totally incredible. The Flower Pot Rocks.

Cape d'Or, Nova Scotia

A Lighthouse, Restaurant, and Inn at the bottom of a cliff. You leave your car at the top and walk down. The view was amazing.

Eatonville

A short hike to a spectacular view. We never get tired of rocks, cliffs and water.

Tide's in. Bay of Fundy tide...highest in the WORLD.

This is the view from our camp site. We are surrounded by water on three sides when the tide is in. It is out and there is lots of beach to comb. We loved this spot.

Whale Watching

An afternoon of whale watching off Brier Island....Said to be the Humpback Capital of Nova Scotia. Followed 2 cows and a calf. Pics could have been better. Problems with the camera. Surprise, surprise kids. Still an awesome time.

"Balancing Rock"

Situated on Long Island on the Digby Neck. A column of basalt rock that balances delicately at the edge of the shore. I have seen this in travel magazines. Awesome to see in person. A great day.

Someone is MISSING.

We have really enjoyed having Lue with us. We will miss her. She has been so easy. She is so adventuresome and inquisitive. Inspecting flowers, rocks, shells, berries (even eating some-she's still alive). Always looking for the moon and looking outside before bed for the stars. She wants to walk on every beach and has lots of questions when we stop. To Lot at St. Anthony....Why are so many vehicles parked on the side of the road? Lot ....I don't knows, maybe having a pee. (Don't think that was the answer she was looking for.) We will miss the cheerful face in the backseat of the truck for the past month offering something for your sweet tooth, wondering what the temperature is or singing to the tunes on the CD. We love you, Lue.

Peggy's Cove

A visit to the said to be one of the most photographed places in Canada. You wonder how it stands the weather as the waves on saturday were past the lighthouse. It is a spectacular place. The tiny harbour below the lighthouse is so quaint and still being used.
